Support that goes beyond willpower

I’m Helena, a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist with over a decade of experience helping people build a healthier relationship with food. I set up this group because lasting change rarely comes from willpower alone โ€” it comes from understanding what’s really driving your habits, and having consistent support while you build new ones.

Each session is small enough to feel personal, and structured enough that you’ll leave with something practical to take away every week.

Why people choose the group

  • Warm, non-judgemental group environment โ€” this isn’t about willpower or blame
  • Same clinical standards as 1:1 sessions
  • Flexible โ€” join in-person in St Albans or online UK-wide
  • More affordable than individual therapy, without losing the personal touch

A Different Way to Approach Weight

What Is the Weight Management Group?

It’s a weekly, 60-minute group session combining hypnotherapy techniques to help reset unhelpful associations with food with practical, CBT-informed tools for managing emotional eating and cravings.

This isn’t a diet plan or a quick fix โ€” it’s an ongoing group (join anytime, stay as long as it’s useful) focused on sustainable, realistic change, not restriction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a weight management group session?

Each 60-minute session combines hypnotherapy techniques to help reset your relationship with food with practical, CBT-based tools for managing triggers and emotional eating โ€” supported by the shared accountability of a small group.

Is this a diet plan?

No. This isn’t about restrictive dieting โ€” it’s about understanding what drives your eating habits and building a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food, at a pace that works for you.

Can I choose between in-person and online?

Yes โ€” the Weight Management Group runs both in person at my St Albans consulting room and online via Zoom, so you can join whichever suits you best.

How much does it cost, and is there a discount available?

Group sessions are ยฃ35 per person, with a free introductory consultation to see if the group is right for you. NHS and emergency services staff in Hertfordshire can also access a discounted rate through our HeroPerks partnership.

Do I need to commit to a fixed number of sessions?

No โ€” the group runs on an ongoing, weekly basis, so you can join at any point and continue for as long as it’s useful to you.

Is this suitable if I have a diagnosed eating disorder?

This group is designed for general weight management and emotional eating support, not as a treatment for diagnosed eating disorders. If that applies to you, please get in touch for a free consultation so we can talk about the most appropriate support, which may include 1:1 sessions or a specialist referral.

Your Space

A Safe, Non-Judgemental Group

Whether you join in person or online, the group is a space to be honest about your relationship with food, without judgement โ€” everyone there understands, because they’re navigating something similar.

In-person sessions take place in my consulting room in St Albans; online sessions run via secure video call, so you can join from wherever suits you.
