Guided support, without losing the personal touch

I’m Helena, a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist with over a decade of experience helping people manage stress, anxiety, and burnout. I set up this group because so many of the tools that help in 1:1 sessions โ€” relaxation techniques, reframing unhelpful thought patterns, practical coping strategies โ€” work just as well, often better, when practised alongside other people going through something similar.

Each session is small enough to feel personal, and structured enough that you’ll leave with something practical to take away every week.

Why people choose the group

  • Warm, non-judgemental group environment
  • Same clinical standards as 1:1 sessions
  • Flexible โ€” join in-person in St Albans or online UK-wide
  • More affordable than individual therapy, without losing the personal touch

A Different Way to Manage Stress

What Is the Stress Management Group?

It’s a weekly, 60-minute group session that blends guided hypnotherapy for deep relaxation with practical, CBT-informed strategies for recognising and managing stress before it builds up.

Unlike a fixed-length course, the group runs on an ongoing basis โ€” join whenever you’re ready, and continue for as long as it’s genuinely useful to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a stress management group session?

Each 60-minute session combines guided relaxation and hypnotic techniques with practical, CBT-based strategies for managing stress โ€” plus space to share experiences with others who understand what you’re going through, in a small, supportive group.

Is the group confidential?

Yes. Everyone in the group agrees to keep what’s shared confidential, and I hold the same professional confidentiality standards as I do in 1:1 sessions, in line with GDPR and my UKCP accreditation.

Can I choose between in-person and online?

Yes โ€” the Stress Management Group runs both in person at my St Albans consulting room and online via Zoom, so you can join whichever suits you best.

How much does it cost, and is there a discount available?

Group sessions are ยฃ35 per person, with a free introductory consultation to see if the group is right for you. NHS and emergency services staff in Hertfordshire can also access a discounted rate through our HeroPerks partnership.

Do I need to commit to a fixed number of sessions?

No โ€” the group runs on an ongoing, weekly basis, so you can join at any point and continue for as long as it’s useful to you.

Is this a replacement for 1:1 therapy?

Not necessarily โ€” some clients use the group alongside 1:1 sessions, others find the group alone is enough. If your stress feels particularly severe or complex, I’d recommend starting with a free consultation so we can figure out the right fit together.

Your Space

A Safe, Supportive Group

Whether you join in person or online, the group is a space to be honest about what you’re carrying, without judgement โ€” everyone there understands, because they’re navigating something similar.

In-person sessions take place in my consulting room in St Albans; online sessions run via secure video call, so you can join from wherever suits you.
